Melodeo Announces Mobilcast Network; Expands Affiliate Program, Adds SMS Option for Mobilcast Installs

SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 2, 2005--Melodeo, Inc., the first company to deliver over the air podcast downloads on mobile phones, today announced the creation of Mobilcast Network. Mobilcast Network is the one stop source for finding, downloading, and listening to podcasts on a mobile phone. At Mobilcast Network podcast listeners can install Mobilcast on their phone and recommend podcasts for the Mobilcast catalog. Podcast creators can use Mobilcast Network to add their podcast to Mobilcast and become a Mobilcast Affiliate. Mobilcast Affiliates help evangelize mobilcasting by making their podcasts available to consumers using Mobilcast, distributing the Mobilcast client over their web site, and promoting it within their podcasts.

Simplifying Installation

Mobilcast installation has been made even simpler. Listeners can go to Mobilcast Network and download Mobilcast via SMS. Consumers enter their mobile phone number on a web a form and receive a SMS message with the download URL. Selecting the URL in the SMS message starts the download. This simplified download enables consumers to more quickly start listening to podcasts on their mobile phones.
