TEPPCO Partners, L.P. Provides Update of Throughput Rates for Pipelines Affected by Hurricane Rita
The 230,000 barrel per day capacity, 20-inch diameter mainline system, which primarily delivers liquefied petroleum gases (LPGs) and gasoline from the Texas Gulf Coast to the Midwest, is pumping from the company's Mont Belvieu, Texas, storage facility at approximately 60 percent of normal operating capacity as of Oct. 2, 2005.
TEPPCO's 110,000 barrel per day capacity, 14-inch and 16-inch diameter pipelines, which primarily deliver distillates and gasoline from the Texas Gulf Coast to the Midwest, are pumping at approximately 75 percent of normal operating capacity from the company's Baytown, Texas, terminal.
TEPPCO is also installing additional generators at its Beaumont, Texas, facility, which would enable receipt and delivery of refined products out of tankage at the terminal. The company is working with local utilities and government officials in an effort to restore commercial power to the Beaumont terminal and the Newton, Texas, pump station within the next week, which would enable the mainline system to resume full operation. TEPPCO is making deliveries at all of its terminal locations with the exception of Todhunter, Ohio.
TEPPCO and Marathon's joint venture Centennial Pipeline, a 26-inch diameter refined products pipeline from Beaumont to Creal Springs, Ill., resumed operating at its normal capacity on Oct. 1, 2005.
