ARAMARK Continues to Support Hurricane Katrina Relief Efforts Throughout Texas and around the Country
ARAMARK in Texas (as of September 8, 2005)
Since evacuees began arriving in Houston from the Gulf Coast areas devastated by Hurricane Katrina, ARAMARK has served more than 635,000 meals to as many as 26,000 evacuees seeking shelter at Reliant Park, which includes the Reliant Astrodome, Reliant Arena and Reliant Center, and George R. Brown Convention Center, as well as additional law enforcement officials, American Red Cross and medical personnel, and volunteers. ARAMARK also is providing all facility services, including cleaning and garbage collection, at these locations.
ARAMARK employees from Reliant Park, George R. Brown Convention Center, Houston Independent School District and Minute Maid Park are working around the clock with the help of more than 1,325 volunteers to prepare, deliver and serve meals and snacks, transport and unload food shipments, stock the warehouse, wash cooking equipment, empty trash cans, mop floors, and clean bathrooms and showers.

More than 4,000 displaced school-aged children are
expected to register for classes this week. ARAMARK will
provide these students with free meals through the USDA's
National School Lunch Program.
Schools across the state of Texas are welcoming displaced
children into their classrooms. As a result, ARAMARK
expects to serve meals to additional students in Clear
Creek Independent School District, Clear Lake Independent
School District, Friendswood Independent School District,
Goose Creek, Hading-Jefferson, LaMarque Independent School
District and McKinney Independent School District.
-- Dallas, Houston, Arkansas and San Antonio hospitals are now
taking patients displaced from Louisiana. Among these are
hospitals supported by ARAMARK, including The Methodist
Hospital, which will accept 180 patients and Christus Santa
Rosa, which will accept 400 patients.

ARAMARK is providing additional support at the following locations:
-- West Jefferson Medical Center (Marrero, LA)
Delivering resources such as fuel, food, water, linens and
clinical equipment needs to this facility, which is open
but in an area that is difficult to access because of
flooding.
-- Lane Memorial Hospital (Zachary, LA)
Sending environmental services support.
-- Northrop Grumman (Pascagoula, MS)
Working with Northrop Grumman to serve meals daily to
1,700 people who are unable to leave the building.
-- Lockheed Martin (Stennis Space Center, MS)
Providing food services for approximately 100 people in a
location that is no longer accessible by land.

Serving approximately 2,000 evacuees.

Preparing a mobile kitchen to produce 1,500 meals per day,
at a location to be determined.
-- D.C. Armory (Washington, D.C.)
Coordinating meal service for approximately 400 evacuees.
-- Philadelphia School District (Philadelphia)
Preparing to serve 180 evacuees.
-- New Haven Public Schools (New Haven, CT)
Preparing to serve 150 evacuees.
-- Comfort Inn (McComb, MI)
Preparing and delivering meals to approximately 100
evacuees.
-- Federal Express (Memphis, TN)
Providing pallets of water and shelf-stable foods that
Fed-Ex is flying in for relief efforts. All products are
being provided at cost.
-- Smyrna Airport and Tullahoma Airforce Base (Tullahoma, TN)
Transporting supplies from the American Red Cross shelter
operations, preparing food supplies for lunch and dinner
for approximately 500 evacuees and relief workers, and
preparing workstations with high-speed internet access to
be used by evacuees.
-- Little Rock Fairgrounds (Little Rock, AR)
Serving meals to evacuees at the direction of the American
Red Cross.
-- Atlanta Food Bank (Atlanta)
Donated approximately $6,000 worth of food to be
distributed to American Red Cross shelters in Atlanta.
Other ARAMARK Donations
-- The ARAMARK Charitable Fund
The ARAMARK Charitable Fund is donating $500,000 to the
American Red Cross for disaster relief. In addition,
personal donations from ARAMARK employees to the American
Red Cross Hurricane 2005 Relief Fund will be matched
dollar for dollar. ARAMARK has more than 242,000 employees
globally.
-- Galls
Galls, an ARAMARK company, sells a wide variety of
uniforms and professional gear for law enforcement,
firefighters, EMTs, and others who ensure individuals'
safety and security. It has donated $100,000 worth of
public safety equipment and supplies to Hurricane Katrina
relief efforts.
-- ARAMARK School Support Services
ARAMARK School Support Services in partnership with Kid
Stuff Marketing will send 18,000 Spike school items to
support students displaced due to Hurricane Katrina.
Students will receive folders, pencil sets and rulers from
the Spike's All-Star Premium program. Spike is the
nutrition mascot for ARAMARK School Support Services.
