Relief Fund Set up in Preparation for Hurricane Katrina by Tennessee Footwear Executive
"This hits home, people fearing for their lives in the New Orleans area in preparation of the disaster just hours away. It's sad to see the potential of what this storm could do to this area," said Wayne Elsey.
Last year, Elsey guided a footwear drive that accounted for over 3 million dollars in footwear donations to the hard hit Tsunami victims with Bright Hope International of Chicago. (www.brighthope.org).
"We can do the natural 'give blood,' etc., but the time is now to step up and make a donation to the cause of 'rebuilding lives' from this event. Significant funds will be needed to make the bridge to 'rebuilding lives' in the pending hard hit areas," explained Elsey. "I have written the first check for $1000 to get the ball rolling," added Elsey.
In the meantime, you can mail your donation to Katrina Relief Effort 3511 Highway 31W White House, Tennessee 37188. Please make all checks payable to Katrina Relief Effort.
"It is all about offering HOPE to the hurting, making a difference in their lives. This is one way that we can direct the funds to people in this hard hurt region through local churches, charities, etc.," explained Elsey.
