NuTech Digital, Inc. Signs Production Agreement with Gaelic Storm
The sextet that makes up Gaelic Storm includes founders Patrick Murphy of Ireland on vocals, Steve Wehmeyer of New York on bodhran, didgeridoo, and vocals, and Steve Twigger of England on guitar and bouzouki. This eclectic group got their big break in 1997, when they appeared as the party band in the Academy Award Winning Blockbuster, "Titanic." After four chart-topping releases, their streak of success continues with their fifth and most recent album, "How Are We Getting Home?", which debuted at #3 on the Billboard World Music Chart. Gaelic Storm routinely breaks attendance and merchandise sales records on their 150 plus tour dates per year, as their popularity stretches beyond the World Music genre and into the mainstream music consciousness.
"Gaelic Storm's live show is unparalleled in this genre today. Their hit shows magically translate the rowdy intimacy of a pub to crowds of tens of thousands of screaming fans. Those fans have been asking for a live DVD for some time now, and Gaelic Storm is thrilled to deliver a live experience their audience can take home with them," said the band's manager Matt Maher. Gaelic Storm is managed by ROAR, a music and talent management company with operations in Nashville, TN and Los Angeles, CA.
Commenting on the agreement, NuTech Digital CEO Lee Kasper stated, "In reaching this agreement with Gaelic Storm, not only will the group and NuTech Digital benefit financially by releasing this concert DVD for the holiday shopping season, but it represents a unique opportunity for us to broaden our scope in the music industry. I believe this eclectic group of artists and instruments will make for a very exciting DVD. I am very pleased to have this agreement in place."
