SPIE Optics & Photonics Exhibition Begins in San Diego Aug. 2
Optics & Photonics Trade Show and Exhibition
Optics & Photonics 2005 includes a large trade show and exhibition featuring the latest technology from over 270 companies showcasing optical systems, lenses, photon detectors, materials and optical components. For people interested in nanotechnology, exhibitors are showcasing nanometer precision motion control, laser tweezers, imaging, and measurement at the nanometer scale.
Career Fair - Jobs in Optics & Photonics
SPIE is also hosting a two-day SPIEWorks Career Fair Tuesday and Wednesday on the exhibition floor for job seekers with a background in optics and photonics. Companies with whom qualified candidates may meet include BAE Systems, Ball Aerospace, CUBIC Corporation, General Atomics, ITT Industries, JPL, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, Raytheon, Schott, and Tinsley.
The Historical Equipment Display - From Photography to Photonics
2005 is the SPIE 50th Anniversary and the Society has compiled a fascinating collection of historical optical instruments, equipment, publications and photographs spanning over 200 years, ranging from early lenses, microscopes, telescopes and cameras to vacuum chambers and lasers. SPIE members were some of the first engineers involved in high-speed photography and, as a result, many amazing and rare photographs can be seen in the SPIE historical equipment display.
The Optics & Photonics Exhibition, Career Fair and Historical Equipment Display are all free and open to the public, located in Exhibition Hall A at the San Diego Convention Center. Hours are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on August 2-4.
