Nero Upgrades NeroLINUX, First LINUX Software Ever to Offer Layer-Jump Recording Support; New Version Offers Enhanced Features, User Interface Improvements and the Most Powerful and Reliable Burning Engine Available
NeroLINUX offers the first ever LINUX-based Layer-Jump Recording software, which enables multisession burning, improved read compatibility and a memory capacity of up to 8.5 GB dual-layer DVD-R media. The software allows data to be added to a disc over several burning sessions.
“Providing the LINUX community with a feature never before offered to them, Layer-Jump Recording is the beginning of a lot of firsts for loyal NeroLINUX users.”
Originally introduced in March 2005, NeroLINUX became Nero's first LINUX-based offering for users who demanded a powerful yet reliable and flexible award-winning application that would perform all the essential optical burning tasks.
"Nero is proud to be known for constantly improving and upgrading our software, and NeroLINUX is no exception," said Jim Corbett, Executive Director of Nero AG. "Providing the LINUX community with a feature never before offered to them, Layer-Jump Recording is the beginning of a lot of firsts for loyal NeroLINUX users."
New features offered include Layer-Jump Recording, an improved GUI based interface, DVD-Video and miniDVD mastering, selectable ISO track recording options and assignable sounds that alert the user to the burn process results. In addition, the current NeroLINUX already supports burning data and disc images to CDs/DVDs (ISO9660, UDF and UDF/ISO9660 Bridge), Bootable CDs/DVDs, Audio CDs with CD text, Mixed Mode CDs, CD-EXTRA, Multisession CD/DVDs and Double Layer DVDs.
