EPCglobal US will offer a wide range of useful information designed to increase the pace of Electronic Product Code (EPC) implementation at the EPCglobal US Conference 2005 in Atlanta, Georgia at the Georgia World Congress Center, September 13-15, 2005. The EPCglobal US Conference 2005 will also be the first event in the world to feature and award companies who successfully completed the EPCglobal Hardware Certification program with EPCglobal Certifications. EPCglobal US is a standards-based organization that is leading the commercialization and implementation of EPC technologies in the United States.
"The EPC era is in full swing and is demonstrating how it will transform the way businesses operate," says EPCglobal US President Mike Meranda. "In order to be successful and effectively implement EPC and RFID technologies, companies need the latest information. Because EPCglobal is pioneering these initiatives, EPCglobal US Conference 2005 attendees are guaranteed to receive the latest and most accurate information available directly from business leaders who are implementing RFID and EPC solutions."
Conference attendees will have the opportunity to learn about new and emerging EPCglobal standards, such as Gen 2 and Tag Data, and receive EPCglobal updates on new and advanced implementation of EPC and RFID technologies within key industries. This year's EPCglobal US Conference 2005 tracks were built around three important phases of Electronic Product Code implementation:
-- Track I: Get Started. Attendees will learn the basics of EPC and RFID from EPCglobal staff and users who have firsthand knowledge of the technology
-- Track II: Build Your Business Case. Industry thought leaders will share the lessons learned during their EPC/RFID implementations
-- Track III: Implement Now. Attendees will learn about the many tools available to support robust implementation plans
Commenting on the EPCglobal Hardware Certification program, Mr. Meranda says: "EPCglobal US is honored to be hosting the very first awards presentation to those technology providers who completed the EPCglobal Hardware Certification program. Based on the current momentum of the certification program, we look forward to many other EPCglobal Hardware Certification awards presentations hosted by our fellow GS1 member companies."
The EPCglobal Hardware Certification program serves as the focal point for technology providers and end-users to ensure compliance with EPCglobal standards. The availability of standardized, tested equipment in the marketplace is important to companies around the globe as it provides reliable, low-cost solutions.
With the growth of the EPCglobal US subscriber community, the ratification of new standards such as Generation 2, and the development of new support programs, conference organizers expect to surpass last year's record attendance. Subscribers, end-users, solution providers, and industry leaders are registering for the conference at a rapid pace.
