JMAR to Showcase BioSentry at AWWA Conference; More Than 15,000 Water Executives to View Laser-Based Water Monitoring System at Annual Industry Event
The presentation, "Recent Results in Real-time, Continuous Detection of Pathogens in Water" will highlight the BioSentry(TM) and show how it can help industry professionals improve water quality monitoring operations and increase water distribution security by leveraging the system's real-time detection of microorganisms.
“Our system puts water quality information in the hands of decision makers in real time, allowing them to effectively monitor their operations. Furthermore, we can tailor the system to screen for the microorganisms most likely to appear in a specific water supply, making it a targeted and efficient tool.”
"The AWWA Annual Conference and Exposition offers the perfect opportunity to expose BioSentry(TM) to an important customer base," said Ronald A. Walrod, CEO of JMAR. For the past 123 years, the AWWA Annual Conference and Exposition has served as the definitive source of information for water professionals who work to improve the quality and supply of drinking water in North America and beyond. The exhibition includes more than 500 participating organizations.
Interested attendees may also learn more about the BioSentry(TM) system at JMAR's booth, # 2148.
The BioSentry(TM) is a laser-based early-warning system that will provide continuous, automated quality monitoring of drinking water. This unique system is designed to monitor, detect and classify waterborne microorganisms in real time, assuring water purity. BioSentry(TM) is useful for a number of water processes and applications such as potable water treatment and water distribution systems. It can also be used in homeland security, military, protection of government buildings, and a number of industrial applications.
Beta units of the system are currently undergoing field testing at several sites including a North San Diego County-based municipal water treatment plant, a major Mexican beverage manufacturer and a leading luxury cruise line provider. Production units are expected to be available in Q4 of 2005.
