Borland Wins Coveted 'Jolt' Awards for Requirements and Modeling Tools; CaliberRM and Together Designer Take Home Honors at Software Development Magazine's Annual Ceremony

SCOTTS VALLEY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 6, 2005--Borland Software Corporation (NASDAQ:BORL) today announced that Borland CaliberRM 2005 and Borland Together Designer 2005 both recently earned honors at the coveted Software Development Jolt Product Excellence and Productivity Awards.

CaliberRM, Borland's requirements management solution, received the Jolt Product Excellence Award for Management Tools, topping competing solutions from IBM Rational, Autotask and VersionOne. Together Designer, part of Borland's Together line of modeling solutions, was given a Productivity Award for the Design Tools category. This marks the second straight year that a Together product received a Productivity Award, with Together Edition for Eclipse winning in 2004.
