Scott Moody, president and CEO of AuthenTec, will be a featured speaker and discuss the latest advances in fingerprint technology, new wireless and PC applications, and the strong and growing opportunity for biometrics throughout Asia.
AuthenTec announced last month that it is significantly expanding its presence throughout Asia - including establishing one of the first biometric research and development centers - to help meet the region's growing demand for consumer and enterprise biometrics products. The company said that it will open the AuthenTec-Shanghai Development Center in the Songjiang district in Shanghai, as well as multiple marketing and customer technical support offices in Japan, Korea, Taiwan and China.
Since its founding in 1998, AuthenTec has grown to become the leading provider of biometric fingerprint sensors in Asia -- with more than 4 million sensors already in use in cell phones, PCs and peripherals, and access control devices throughout the region. The tiny sensors are used to provide the most convenient form of security against theft or fraud, as well as enabling other functions. Asia continues to be one of the fastest growing regions for biometrics, and the largest overall market opportunity.
