expressor software Gains Strong Momentum with New Licenses, Partnerships, Products, Hires
Company is well-positioned for continued growth and successful FY 2009
BURLINGTON, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--expressor software, the leader in semantic data integration, today announced the company is gaining strong momentum in all areas of its operations.
“anyone needing to process high volumes of data and/or needing to support complex processes should immediately put expressor on their short list of data integration products to consider.”
“Little more than a year after first shipping expressor, our strategic investments in marketing and partnerships are resulting in important new customer acquisitions and the new hosted eval edition is already helping us build a solid sales pipeline,” said Bob Potter, president and CEO, expressor software. “We also strengthened our engineering team with two top-notch developers and recently began shipping our latest point release of expressor.”
“Given the state of the economy, I am pleased that expressor software is having a good year from a financial perspective as well,” added Melinda Smith, CFO, expressor software. “Our bookings and pipeline growth, together with our ability to exceed our cash flow and expense targets are positioning us well for a successful 2009 fiscal year.”
sales and marketing momentum
expressor recently signed new licensing transactions with American Tower, Silverlink, Sybron Dental and a major US credit card company and completed more than half a dozen POCs with organizations across the US and Europe.
In early July, the company distributed the “InDetail Report” on expressor published by independent industry analysis firm Bloor Research, which concluded that “anyone needing to process high volumes of data and/or needing to support complex processes should immediately put expressor on their short list of data integration products to consider.”
On September 8th, the company announced the new expressor eval edition, a free, hosted version of the expressor semantic data integration system that lets developers take expressor for a 30-day “test drive” by creating, testing, modifying and running expressor drawings. More than 15 external users participated in a beta program for the eval edition prior to launch and today more than 25 companies have signed up to evaluate expressor.
Early feedback on the expressor eval edition has been very positive. Gauri Ghare, data warehouse administrator at the Jacobi Medical Center and an adjunct professor at Pace University, said she found the eval edition “an excellent toolset,” adding, “I think it has been designed and developed with great understanding of real-world problems of data integration.” An influential Toolbox for IT blog by Vincent McBurney said the eval edition was “a great way to check out a product” without “all the conditions and restrictions” of similar offerings from competitors.
partner program expansion
In the last 90 days, expressor expanded its partner program with the addition of three new companies:
- BAP Global Solutions – a leading provider of enterprise governance products and services, which is using expressor to enable an end-to-end master data governance solution
- Teradata – the world’s largest data warehousing and business analytics company and expressor software signed a technology partnership to extend the integration between the companies’ product offerings
- NewVantage Partners -- an executive advisory and management consulting partner with deep expertise in all aspects of enterprise data management
expressor conducted its first EMEA partner conference on September 16th, as more than half a dozen partner companies joined company executives in London for in-depth product demos, roadmap discussions and sales training sessions.
expressor also significantly strengthened its partnership with data warehouse appliance leader Netezza by certifying the expressor semantic data integration system for use with version 4.6 of the Netezza Performance Server® (NPS®) data warehouse appliance, committing to certify expressor to support the new TwinFin appliance in an upcoming point release and exhibiting at the Netezza Enzee Universe World Tour 2009 events in Boston, Chicago, Washington and London.
new products
Following on the shipment of version 2.0 of the expressor semantic data integration system in mid-June, the company released version 2.1 in early October. Version 2.1 of expressor is now available for the Solaris platform and features support for 8-byte integers, image creation from XML, XSD and DTD files, new online command parameters and enhanced documentation.
key hires
expressor software also has strengthened its engineering team with the addition of experts in parallel data processing and user interface design:
- Jerry Callen was one of the founding engineers who designed and implemented Torrent System’s Orchestrate product, a flow-based programming system that became the parallel data processing engine at the heart of the IBM/Ascential InfoSphere Information Server. Jerry has joined expressor from IBM and is now an architect of expressor’s parallel data processing engine.
- Vikram Dere is a recognized user interface expert with two patents in data visualization and more than 10 years’ experience in the field of user interaction. He most recently worked on SAS’ Data Integration Studio and DataFlux products and is now responsible for expressor’s user interface design efforts.
