Hippo and Capgemini Nederland B.V. Partner to Bring Open Source Content Management and Portal Technology to the Enterprise
Bringing Innovative and Cost-Effective Solutions to Government and Enterprise Customers in the Netherlands
SAN FRANCISCO & AMSTERDAM--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Hippo, the leading developer of web-based, open source Enterprise CMS / Portal software, with offices in San Francisco and Amsterdam has partnered with Capgemini Nederland B.V. (“Capgemini”), a subsidiary of Capgemini, one of the world’s foremost providers of consulting, technology and outsourcing services. The alliance will deliver end-to-end web content management and portal solutions, focused at increasing (secure) re-use of content and applications across the enterprise.
Hippo's CEO, Jeroen Verberg, said: “We are witnessing strong demand in all our core markets. The large number of highly skilled professionals and the technical expertise of Capgemini will add an enormous amount of experience and implementation power to the Hippo ecosystem. We look forward to working with Capgemini to redefine the way open source Content Management and Portal technology are used.”
This partnership is another step as the companies already worked together on successfully implementing Hippo's software. A number of Capgemini's employees already received advance training in Hippo's technologies and collaborate in the Hippo community to stay on top of new features and functionality.
Capgemini will deliver solutions based on the new version of Hippo CMS, version 7, which features an enterprise class content management system fully integrated with Web and Portal environments. With CMS7, Capgemini not only offers a fully open source stack, but also helps companies integrate a large number of disparate sites and applications in a cost effective way. Shipped as a bundle with Apache Jetspeed Portal 2.2 and Hippo Site Toolkit, the resulting solutions are a perfect fit for environments in which multi channel publishing, application integration and security are important.
“Hippo's team has proven a serious commitment to openness and standardization to help integrators and end-users build customized solutions. Capgemini is a strong believer in this model. As we are growing our open source portfolio, we are very pleased to include Hippo in our applications solutions set. Hippo CMS version 7 is a true enterprise-class content management system, fully integrated with a state of the art portal. By working with Hippo we will continue to help our clients to drive down IT related costs while adding business process innovation for our clients,” said Levente Bokor, Managing Consultant of Capgemini.
Hippo helps companies manage and access information, protect sensitive data, share knowledge, optimize collaboration and reduce operational costs through its Content Management and Portal technologies. With the combination of enterprise-class support and open source technology, Hippo provides its users with the best of both worlds: the flexibility, innovation and robustness of open source software combined with the stability, reach, and service quality of an established vendor.
Hippo is actively involved in several key standard-setting efforts such as JSR 283, 286, 301 and 329. Ten members of the Hippo team are actively involved as committers/members for The Apache Software Foundation.
The company was founded in 1999 and today has a global base of over 150 customers across the education, publishing, manufacturing, and financial services industries, as well as several government agencies. Part of the Deloitte Fast 50 in 2007 and 2008, Hippo now has over 50 employees located in its European headquarters in Amsterdam, The Netherlands and North American headquarters in San Francisco, California.
