Wienerschnitzel Honors National Hot Dog Month by Christening July 14 “Free Original Chili Dog or Cone Day” at Participating Locations Throughout the West
The World’s Largest Hot Dog Chain® Will Give Away a Free Original Chili Dog or Tastee-Freez Small Cone Tuesday, July 14, from 5 to 8 p.m.
NEWPORT BEACH, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--More hot dogs are eaten in July than any other month of the year – a fact that prompted the National Hot Dog & Sausage Council to designate July as National Hot Dog Month and Wienerschnitzel to christen July 14 as “Free Original Chili Dog or Small Cone Day.”
In honor of America’s fascination with the famous food and the company’s status as The World’s Largest Hot Dog Chain®, Wienerschnitzel will be giving away a free Original Chili Dog or Tastee-Freez Small Cone on July 14 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at participating Wienerschnitzel locations throughout the Western U.S. For a list of local Wienerschnitzel’s 345 locations, visit www.wienerschnitzel.com.
“Whether it’s sidewalk carts in New York, major league ballparks in the Midwest or Wienerschnitzel locations throughout the West, summer is the hot dog season and July is the hot dog month,” explained Tom Amberger, vice president of marketing for Wienerschnitzel. “As the world’s most popular hot dog destination, Wienerschnitzel wanted to do its part to celebrate the country’s love affair with this most American of food icons.”
Amberger explained that participating Wienerschnitzel locations will be offering a free Soft Serve Small Cone as an alternative to the Original Chili Dog for those customers with a sweet tooth or wanting to beat the heat. “July is also National Ice Cream Month so we wanted to give equal billing to our Tastee-Freez menu.”
“Free Original Chili Dog or Cone Day” is the latest in a series of robust product, advertising and promotional programs introduced by Wienerschnitzel this year as part of its “Der-licious” campaign to strengthen its leadership position in the hot dog segment. Earlier this year, the company introduced its 1/3 Pound Spicy Polish Sausage, which was followed in March by the launch of its Big Original Chili Dog, an 84-percent-larger version of its famous grilled Original Chili Dog, and its first-ever Angus Beef Dog.
This month, Wienerschnitzel rolls out one of the most substantial value menus in the industry, the UnDER $1 Menu, featuring a Chili Burger, Corn Dog, Original Stadium Dog, Original Mustard Dog, Original Relish Dog, Chili Cheese Fries Burrito, Jalapeno Poppers (3-pack) and Chocolate Dipped Small Cone.
The free Original Chili Dog or Small Cone offer is valid at participating Wienerschnitzel locations only, and cannot be combined with any other offer or discount. Limit one Original Chili Dog or Small Cone per person, per visit only. Tastee-Freez is not available at all Wienerschnitzel locations. This offer is not redeemable for cash.
