TheFind Announces It Will Include Major Trust Certifications Within Its Search Results
VeriSign, buySAFE, Trust Guard and Other Trust Seals To Help Shoppers Make Informed Choices Upfront
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--TheFind, the leading vertical search engine for shopping, today announced that it is partnering with major online trust certification companies including VeriSign, buySAFE, ControlScan and Trust Guard to display seals alongside certified stores within TheFind’s search results.
“As the Web’s most trusted security provider, VeriSign is pleased to provide TheFind’s fast-growing audience with the security and peace-of-mind that comes from seeing the VeriSign Secured™ Seal within search results”
Starting next week these familiar trust marks will enable shoppers to evaluate every online store right upfront within search results, helping them to make decisions about where to buy based on more than just a product and its price. A 2009 consumer research study conducted by Javelin Strategy & Research for eBillme and First Guard determined that only 61% of consumers with internet access agreed that the Internet is safe enough for making online purchases. TheFind is the first search engine to address this concern directly by incorporating major security, business and privacy seals into its search results, fostering consumer confidence as they are shopping.
“As the Web’s most trusted security provider, VeriSign is pleased to provide TheFind’s fast-growing audience with the security and peace-of-mind that comes from seeing the VeriSign Secured™ Seal within search results,” said Fran Rosch, senior vice-president of Authentication Products at VeriSign. “Gaining the trust of online shoppers is vital for the success of e-commerce. TheFind is providing a great benefit to VeriSign Secured merchants and their customers by making the VeriSign Secured Seal an integral part of the search experience.”
“TheFind’s mission is to help every shopper find exactly what they want to buy, and where to buy it. To do this well means we must provide consumers with all of the relevant information they need to make buying decisions quickly and easily”, said Siva Kumar, CEO and co-founder of TheFind. “Informing shoppers about each store’s certifications – whether it’s SSL, privacy, PCI scanning or business reputation – empowers them to shop with greater confidence at stores that are new to them. As a result, people can take better advantage of the complete set of store options, product choices, and coupons that are displayed to them when searching on TheFind.”
Shoppers who search on TheFind are increasingly embracing the comprehensive set of choices they have available to them. Last month alone, 12 million shoppers searching on TheFind visited more than 90,000 different online stores after clicking out from search results.
“Established trust certifications have proven that they can increase site conversion rates by consistently addressing the very real concerns of today’s online shoppers,” said Ron Levi, TheFind’s VP of Product. “By making every store’s trustmarks visible upfront within TheFind’s search results, TheFind hopes to continue that trend, fostering trust between consumers and retailers, and driving even more highly qualified traffic to the widening array of certified online stores.”
