Online degree offers sought-after combination of health care and business knowledge
MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Capella University (www.capella.edu), an accredited,* fully online university that has built its reputation by providing quality education for working adults, announced a new Health Care Management specialization within its Bachelor of Science in Business online degree program. The curriculum, which incorporates national industry standards for health care management, is designed to provide students with a strong foundation of health care knowledge and business skills, a sought-after combination in the health care field.
“Aspiring health care administrators must often choose between a business degree and a health care degree,” said Feranda Williamson, EdD, dean of Capella’s School of Undergraduate Studies. “This offering combines the best of both disciplines, and leverages Capella’s expertise in both areas of study.” Capella offers more than a dozen graduate and undergraduate specializations in health care and related fields, along with more than 30 business-related specializations.
“Our Health Care Management students will also benefit from Capella’s leading edge approach to public service education, which brings together faculty and students from health care, public administration, and public safety,” said Dr. Williamson. “Health care administrators must often work with government officials and public safety professionals to address communitywide health and safety challenges. Our students will have opportunities to learn and practice interprofessional collaboration skills that will prepare them to work more effectively across departmental, functional, and jurisdictional lines.”
