GroundWork Adds Tap In Systems Cloud Management
New Extension Adds Amazon EC2 Management to GroundWork Monitor
SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--GroundWork Open Source, Inc. (www.groundworkopensource.com), the leader in commercial open source systems and network management software, today announced the availability of Tap In System’s Cloud Management Service (CMS) extension via the GroundWork Exchange (http://www.groundworkopensource.com/exchange/cloud-management.html).
“Most companies with IT systems in the cloud will continue to maintain significant IT infrastructure outside of it. As such, Tap In believes that adding cloud computing features to existing IT management tools is the most valuable approach”
“The ability to integrate the management of cloud-based systems with that of existing, traditional IT systems is critical to getting the most out of both,” said Simon Bennett, Senior Director of Product Management. “By using Tap In’s Cloud Management Service with GroundWork Monitor, users gain visibility into systems both inside and outside the cloud through a single pane of glass.”
Tap In’s CMS option adds Amazon EC2 cloud management features to the core monitoring functions of GroundWork Monitor 5.2.1 or higher:
-Monitors cloud infrastructure status
-Measures cloud-specific instance metrics
-Maps and tracks dynamic host name and IP address changes
-Itemizes Amazon EC2 billing
-Allows cloud-based systems to be managed alongside traditional systems
"We decided to implement Tap In's solution when we ported our IT infrastructure to the Cloud. With heavy data processing demands across a variety of users and time zones, ConnectNote's video messaging application has benefited greatly from the pro-active monitoring availability and performance information that Tap In provides. Now I am always pro-actively notified when there is a problem with the system," said Justin Munning, Chief Architect and Senior Developer, ConnectNote.
"Most companies with IT systems in the cloud will continue to maintain significant IT infrastructure outside of it. As such, Tap In believes that adding cloud computing features to existing IT management tools is the most valuable approach," said Peter Loh, Founder and CEO, Tap In Systems. "We’re pleased to add our cloud expertise to GroundWork’s core enterprise monitoring competencies."
