Yesmail retention marketers can immediately extend the reach of their programs and double the effectiveness of the e-mail channel by making campaigns sharable to popular social media sites, with friends via instant messaging and SMS and pushing it out to the appropriate blogging community.
Enterprise marketers that need to demonstrate the value social media lends to e-mail marketing will have comprehensive reporting to show:
1) How many times the ShareThis button was clicked
2) What social network sites were most often used to post
3) What e-mails were most tagged by ShareThis

Personal e-mails made up 56 percent of shared content received. However, more than 50 percent of youth use instant messaging, videos from YouTube and wikis to share content, while notes on social networks and text messages on cell phones equates respectively to 30 percent and 41 percent for how this demographic receives information. 1
“User-driven content is an important area of focus for marketers today,” said Tim Schigel, CEO and co-founder of ShareThis, “and we believe that giving e-mail the capability to be easily shared is a key component in determining content users find interesting.
