EdeniQ Unveils Corn3™ Yield Enhancement Program
Ethanol Producers Use Corn3 to Make More Ethanol from Less Corn
SAN ANTONIO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--EdeniQ, a California-based biotechnology company serving the biofuels industry, today unveiled its new Corn3 Yield Enhancement Program at the 14th annual National Ethanol Conference in San Antonio, Texas.
“In these turbulent times of volatile corn and energy prices – and razor-thin margins – our program can move many ethanol producers from breakeven to profitability”
EdeniQ’s Corn3 Yield Enhancement Program increases the yield of ethanol from an industry average of 2.69 un-denatured gallons per bushel to over 3 gallons per bushel. The 10%-plus gain in productivity Corn3 delivers has a dramatic effect on producers’ bottom-lines.
“In these turbulent times of volatile corn and energy prices – and razor-thin margins – our program can move many ethanol producers from breakeven to profitability,” explains EdeniQ’s CEO Larry Gross. “A plant producing 100 million gallons of ethanol per year can use Corn3 to reduce its annual corn bill by as much as $20 million.”
Implemented in 3 distinct phases, Corn3 uses a proprietary combination of biological and mechanical processes to achieve its results. Corn3’s first phase requires no capital investment, yet provides an immediate increase in ethanol yield. The Corn3 technology has been successfully implemented at EdeniQ’s large-scale pilot plant in Visalia, California and the company plans to commercialize the program at several undisclosed plant locations in 2009.
“Regardless of your views on the politics and economics of corn ethanol, everyone can get excited about reducing the amount of corn in ethanol by over 10%,” said Gross.
