Luminetx Announces Addition of New Board Members
MEMPHIS, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Luminetx Corp. announced today the addition of new members to the company’s board of directors − James DelMauro, Dr. Gunnar Lovhoiden, Susannah H. O’Sullivan, Kyle Rice, Dr. Michael Breiner.
Class III Directors
James G. DelMauro currently holds the position of interim chief operating officer at Luminetx. After working in sales for Fisher Scientific and the 3M companies, he joined General Electric in 1970. During his 30 years at GE, he held the positions of vice president of sales, service and marketing and saw GE’s diagnostic imaging business grow to more than $7 billion as it became the largest and most profitable imaging company in the world. DelMauro was instrumental in pioneering the top-down medical sales approach by achieving a $1.8 billion contract with Columbia/HCA. He received a bachelor’s degree from St. Bonaventure University.
Dr. Gunnar Lovhoiden, engineering professor at Andrews University in southwest Michigan, has been involved with the VeinViewer® Imaging System technology since 1997, when he constructed a technology feasibility vein-imaging prototype. Lovhoiden worked full-time for Luminetx Corp. from May 2005 to December 2007 and continued to consult for Luminetx into 2008. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from Walla Walla College and a Master of Science and Ph.D. in biomedical engineering from the University of Tennessee.
Susannah H. O’Sullivan, director of private funds for the Private Funds Group of Morgan Keegan & Company, Inc. is responsible for managing $200 million of assets under management across four private equity funds for Morgan Keegan and is currently responsible for creating a strategic private equity plan for Regions Financial Corp., including combining Morgan Keegan’s private equity efforts and Regions’ private equity efforts into a firm-wide private equity group. O’Sullivan holds a Master of Science in applied finance from Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia, and a Bachelor of Arts in government and a Bachelor of Arts in history from the University of Virginia.
Class I Director
Kyle Rice is chairman of Journey Healthcare, a regional company providing hospice and home health care services to patients in South Carolina, Georgia, Louisiana and Texas. He joins existing board members Dr. Ed Scott, CEO of Lifeblood Biological Services and medical director of Lifeblood, and Dr. Scott Morris, Church Health Center, as a Class I Director. Rice has been an entrepreneur and business owner for more than 40 years in such diverse areas as education, health care, farming and ranching and commercial real estate development. He previously started and built a health care business with more than 25 locations and more than 1,000 patients at the time it was sold. Rice is a member of the Ambassador Club at The University of Memphis.
Class II Director
Dr. Michael Breiner is a board-certified plastic surgeon who founded the Southwest Virginia Center for Cosmetic, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in Roanoke, Va. Breiner joins existing board members Calvin Anderson, vice president and executive director, TN Health Foundation, and Al Gossett, chairman of the Luminetx board, as a Class II Director. He is a recognized leader in technology-driven approaches to medicine, ranging from skin cancer prevention, trauma patients and wound care to plastic and reconstructive surgery. Breiner is a recognized teacher, author and media expert on all facets of plastic, cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. He graduated magna cum laude with his Bachelor of Science in chemistry from Hampden-Sydney College in 1982 and his medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School in 1985. His professional training includes prestigious fellowships at the University of Miami and Harvard University.
