AmeriHealth Mercy Family of Companies Selects NaviMedix to Deliver Provider Communications Solutions for Six Medicaid Health Plans Across the Country
NaviNet Multi-Sponsor Platform Offers Immediate Access to National Provider Network; Provides Delivery of Clinical Information to Help Improve Care Management for Vulnerable Patient Population
CAMBRIDGE, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--NaviMedix, the national leader in real-time healthcare communications, today announced that the AmeriHealth Mercy Family of Companies, the largest Medicaid managed care organization in the U.S., will replace its current Web-based provider communications solutions used by six AmeriHealth Mercy health plans with NaviNet®. Healthcare providers doing business with the six plans can now use NaviNet, NaviMedix’s communications platform already used by over 650,000 physicians and clinicians in 50 states, to interact with those plans. In August 2008, AmeriHealth Mercy deployed NaviNet to Pennsylvania-based Keystone Mercy Health Plan and AmeriHealth Mercy Health Plan. Three other AmeriHealth Mercy plans — MDwise Hoosier Alliance, Passport Health Plan and Select Health of South Carolina — went live on NaviNet in the Fall of 2008. AmeriHealth Mercy will also deploy NaviNet for its customer, Horizon NJ Health, in the near future.
“Working with NaviMedix for our provider communications enables us to quickly roll out sophisticated services across all our lines of business and support our network providers in delivering high quality care to an often underserved patient population”
Because NaviNet has an already-established presence in physician practices and hospitals in all the states that the six AmeriHealth Mercy health plans serve, AmeriHealth Mercy can quickly deploy its NaviNet services to its network providers in those regions, rapidly gain provider adoption and efficiently begin the process of retiring its current provider communication Web sites. NaviNet’s ease-of-use, no-cost model and clinical information delivery capabilities lower financial barriers for AmeriHealth Mercy’s providers, who serve the vulnerable Medicaid patient population. NaviNet makes it easier and faster for providers to get reimbursed, and provides advanced care management features for improved care coordination without having to invest in an electronic medical record (EMR).
“Working with NaviMedix for our provider communications enables us to quickly roll out sophisticated services across all our lines of business and support our network providers in delivering high quality care to an often underserved patient population,” said Jay Feldstein, D.O., senior vice president and corporate chief medical officer of AmeriHealth Mercy. “Our NaviNet transactions are readily adopted by our providers because NaviNet is already embedded into the workflows of thousands of provider offices across the states that our Medicaid plans serve.”
“We’re very pleased to welcome AmeriHealth Mercy to the NaviNet platform,” said Tim Hargarten, chief executive officer of NaviMedix. “The combination of NaviNet’s unique and flexible platform architecture coupled with the breadth of the NaviNet Network, now more than 650,000 providers strong, enables AmeriHealth Mercy to quickly operationalize different provider communications initiatives, reflective of Medicaid program differences that exist from state to state, without having to develop and maintain separate single purpose provider portals.”
