Heath Construction Selected for $2.9 Million Berthoud High School Project
Heath to Complete School’s Gymnasium in Time for Basketball Season
FORT COLLINS, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Heath Construction is using a full-court press to ensure Berthoud High School’s new 18,000-square-foot gymnasium – part of a $2.9 million project that includes classroom additions and a new field house – can be used for the school’s upcoming basketball season.
“We’re experienced at working under tight schedules common with school projects,” said Randy DeMario, Heath president, referring to the more than 40 schools and educational facilities the company has built in the last decade. “Our construction and estimating teams worked with school officials, architects and subcontractors to tighten the construction schedule and complete this new gymnasium sooner than originally planned.”
In addition to the new gymnasium, Heath will build two science labs, a multi-purpose flex classroom and a 1,100-square-foot field house.
During construction, Heath will accommodate student needs. Builders will modify the school entrance to help students reach classrooms and give student athletes easy locker room access. They also will control construction noise by installing insulation between the work area and nearby classrooms.
In addition to Berthoud High School, Heath also is renovating Loveland’s $3.8 million Harold Ferguson High School and a $700,000, collegiate-level track-and-field facility for Platte Valley High School. The company recently completed a $6.4 million addition to Mountain View High School in Loveland.
Heath Construction also built $6.5 million in facility additions for Weld County School District 6, a $2 million new gymnasium and remodel for Cache La Poudre Elementary and Junior High Schools in Fort Collins, and a $20 million Regional Biocontainment Laboratory addition at Colorado State University – a joint venture with Hensel Phelps Construction Co.
