Silicon Mechanics Announces Hyperform High-Performance Computing Products
Intel® Cluster Ready-Certified Cluster Completes Proof Point, Demonstrates One Cluster, Many Codes Compatibility
BOTHELL, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Silicon Mechanics, Inc., a leading provider of rackmount servers, storage, and high-performance computing solutions, today announced the launch of Hyperform, an expansion and consolidation of their High-Performance Computing hardware into a unified line of HPC solutions. The newest addition to the Hyperform family is the Hyperform ICR Cluster.
The Hyperform ICR Cluster is an Intel Cluster Ready-certified cluster, presented in conjunction with the Silicon Mechanics online cluster configuration tool. Customers can interactively create the configurations best suited to their HPC cluster requirements, using the certified Hyperform cluster as their starting point. The combination of the ICR certification and the Silicon Mechanics online configuration tools dramatically simplifies the process of cluster sourcing, pricing, and delivery. Customers now have the option of configuring their cluster solutions online, and are also able to contact the company at any point in the process for expert sales engineering support and consultation.
The Intel Cluster Ready-certified Hyperform ICR Cluster is an aggregate of servers, interconnects, operating system, and cluster applications. The head node is the Silicon Mechanics Rackform iServ R244, and the 10 compute nodes are contained in five 1U Rackform iServ R1515 twin servers. The twin form factor of the R1515 optimizes compute density, with support for two compute nodes in each 1U of rack space. The certified cluster middleware is Rocks+ by Clustercorp.
Silicon Mechanics also recently completed a Proof Point activity in conjunction with the Intel Cluster Ready Program, which successfully demonstrated that seven separate ISV codes could be successively loaded onto this one cluster, and run successfully. ISV applications included codes from Abaqus, and one each from Fluent, LS-DYNA, PAM-CRASH, Starcd, and Nastran.
Pricing and Availability
The Hyperform ICR Cluster is available for configuration, purchase, and delivery via the Silicon Mechanics website.
