LTU Technologies Provides IT Solution Recognized in CIO Magazine’s 2008 CIO 100 Awards
Leveraging LTU’s Multimedia Content Control Solutions, MyThings.com Named One of the CIO 100 Award Honorees
WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--IDG's CIO magazine today recognized LTU Technologies’ customer, MyThings.com, as a recipient of the 2008 CIO 100 Awards. The 21st annual award program recognizes organizations around the world that exemplify the highest level of operational and strategic excellence in information technology (IT). MyThings.com was honored for its implementation of LTU’s multimedia content control solutions in its Trace offering, an online global database of lost, stolen and seized items.
"The CIO 100 honors organizations that have used technology in innovative ways to generate value to the business," said Abbie Lundberg, editor in chief of CIO magazine. "Unlike other top lists, it’s not just about who’s biggest—it’s about who’s doing the most interesting and relevant things."
LTU is a leading provider of technology solutions that control, manage and filter large databases of visual content, such as images and videos. LTU’s solutions have been deployed within the digital content industry for projects as diverse as identifying copyright infringement, to managing liability and risk, to investigating forensic evidence.
MyThings.com, a secure solution for organizing and managing valuables online, received the CIO 100 honor for Trace’s unique and innovative implementation of LTU’s sophisticated visual-matching technology. With LTU, Trace provides users an enhanced experience – able to quickly and more accurately determine the authenticity of valuables by matching user-uploaded images to a stored database of known stolen images.
“Our goal of providing an online service to identify stolen property and thwart unknown redistribution was significantly enhanced when we integrated LTU’s solutions,” said Ken Bouche, vice president of Trace. “Today’s recognition as a CIO 100 speaks to the value that LTU has brought to Trace, and, in turn, the value that Trace has brought to the online community. We are proud to be included in such an impressive industry selection, and believe that our strong partnership with LTU Technologies will only continue to strengthen our market footprint,” concluded Bouche.
“Being a part of the CIO 100 is a great honor and we’re thrilled that MyThings.com can share the story of its success using our multimedia content control solutions with such an impressive award,” said Alexandre Winter LTU CEO and co-founder. “We believe this serves as a great example to other organizations seeking a way to implement solutions to better control all aspects of their visual content – it’s technology that can truly improve the performance of your entire business.”
The 2008 CIO 100 awards will be presented at the Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, Colorado, on August 26 at the conclusion of the tenth annual CIO 100 Symposium® and Awards Ceremony.
Complete coverage of the 2008 CIO 100 awards will be in the August 15 issue of CIO magazine and available online at www.cio.com on June 1.
