The Law Firm of Ellis, Ged & Bodden Wins Civil Trial

BOCA RATON, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Trial attorneys Carlos A. Bodden and Lawrence U.L. Chandler of the Boca Raton-based law firm of Ellis, Ged & Bodden, P.A., recently convinced a Broward County jury that Jessica Bewsey deserved significantly more than the $5,000 initially offered by her insurance company in the wake of a devastating automobile accident. More than five years after the accident turned Ms. Bewsey’s life upside down, a civil jury ordered State Farm Insurance to provide more than $277,000 in compensation for the injuries and property damages Ms. Bewsey sustained in the incident.

During the week-long trial, details of the crash were presented to the jury. On July 15, 2002, Ms. Bewsey was traveling westbound on Hillsboro Boulevard in Deerfield Beach. As she proceeded through the intersection of 45^th Way, the driver of another vehicle made a left turn in front of her, causing the collision. Significant damage resulted from the impact; property damage to Ms. Bewsey’s vehicle totaled more than $12,000. More importantly, Ms. Bewsey herself sustained severe injuries to her neck and lower back
