Flektor to Launch Glitter Text, Slideshow Creator and Poll Applications on MySpace
Flektor’s Innovative Applications to Bring New Means of Self-Expression to the Worlds Largest Social Network
LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Flektor (http://www.flektor.com), the only premier provider of Web-based profile enhancement tools and a unit of Fox Interactive Media, today announced the launch of several premier self-expression applications on MySpace, the world's most popular social network. MySpace users can now utilize Flektor’s easy-to-use, Web-based applications to create MySpace Graphics; glitter text, slideshows and polls to set their profile pages apart from the rest. Empowered by the newly announced MySpace Developer Platform (http://developer.myspace.com), Flektor was able to easily build, test, and deploy its glitter text, slideshow and poll applications.
The Flektor Slideshow Creator, Glitter Text and Poll Applications allow MySpace users to easily create MySpace Slideshows, MySpace Text or a MySpace Poll without having to create a separate account or import images. The Developer Platform on MySpace allows Flektor slideshows to sync with a MySpace user’s account so all photos displayed on MySpace automatically download for easy slideshow creation. Created by legendary video game designers and programmers, Flektor’s premier tools create unparalleled effects.
MySpace first introduced their Developer Platform site on February 5, 2008 beginning a one month application development period allowing companies including Flektor, time to build and test their applications in a secure environment before going live to the MySpace community.
On March 13, 2008, MySpace launched the public beta of the Application Gallery; MySpace Apps (http://apps.myspace.com), enabling broader testing of approved applications by allowing public installation. MySpace members can now discover and add new applications from a variety of categories, including Flektor slideshows, glitter text and polls, to both their home and profile pages.
“Bringing Flektor’s unique Web-based tools to MySpace will enable users to make their profile even more unique than they already are,” said Clint Brauer, vice president of marketing for Flektor. “The glitter text, slideshow creator and polling feature applications were developed by Flektor as another means of self-expression and we are thrilled to share them with MySpace users.”
As with all MySpace Developer Platform applications, the Flektor applications will be able to safely access publicly available profile information including a user’s friend list, interests, photos & albums, video, as well as status & mood. The Flektor applications will have real estate in five places within MySpace including:
- A MySpace application profile (users can “friend” the apps)
- Access to embed applications on the user homepage (inward facing—for you to see)
- Access to embed applications on profiles (outward facing widget—for friends to see)
- An application gallery listing
- A canvas page
