L.A. Janitors and Maintenance Contractors Approve Historic Wage and Benefit Agreement
LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Los Angeles maintenance contractors and their janitor employees represented by Service Employees International Union Local 1877, together with major building owners, tentatively agreed today to terms of a new collective bargaining agreements providing Los Angeles janitors with historic wage and benefit improvements, the companies announced today.

We appreciate the valuable assistance of the Los Angeles Building Owners and Managers Association, as well as Mayor Villaraigosa, in reaching this accord.”
Under the terms of the four-year agreement, the 13 companies participating in the collective bargaining for Los Angeles janitors will provide janitors with wage increases as high as $2.15 per hour over four years.
The building maintenance companies involved in the bargaining include: Able; ABM Janitorial Services; Advance; Columbia; DMS; IFS; Merchants; One Source; Peerless; Servicon; NBS; Universal; and UPM.
