Wizzard Media Partners With YouTube
Relationship Expected to Grow Audiences and Revenues for Podcasters on Wizzard Media Network
PITTSBURGH--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Wizzard Software Corporation (AMEX: WZE), owner of Wizzard Media, the world’s largest podcasting network, announced today that it has signed a content licensing and advertising agreement with YouTube™. Wizzard’s new YouTube channel, which can be found at www.youtube.com/wizzarddottv, will showcase the best video content from the Wizzard Media Network, targeted at a wide range of niche audiences. Featured shows will include Emmy-nominated programs from the iClipx Extreme Sports Catalog, in addition to other premium video programming from multiple content producers across a variety of categories.
As a YouTube content partner, Wizzard will have its own brand channel that will enable users to access streaming video podcasts from the Wizzard Media Network. Through this agreement, YouTube will run ads against the shows in Wizzard’s YouTube channel. YouTube will share with Wizzard any ad revenue generated by the streamed Wizzard podcasts.
In addition to the ad revenue generated by increased audiences and advertising opportunities, the agreement with YouTube will also allow for content from the Wizzard Media Network to be incorporated into the Google AdSense Network. Through this program, Wizzard Media videos are blanketed across thousands of websites participating in the Google AdSense service. Wizzard will receive a share of revenues for certain ads displayed in connection with the playback of Wizzard Videos on the Google AdSense Network. Wizzard has opted to share a percentage of these revenues collected with the show’s creators.
Skip Fredericks, Sr. Vice President of Content Development, Wizzard Media, said, “We are ecstatic to be partnering with YouTube in creating a Wizzard channel. This is a fantastic opportunity for our producers to expand their audience base and for our advertisers to be able to tie into the YouTube universe with targeted programming from the Wizzard Network."
"We’re pleased that a leading podcasting network is offering the YouTube community access to its rich database of quality programming,” said Jordan Hoffner, head of premium content partnerships for YouTube. “We are constantly looking for ways to give the YouTube community more viewing choices, and Wizzard’s diverse content and new videos designed specifically for YouTube will further that mission.”
