“The Guild” and “Knock Off” Take Top Honors at the Greenlight Awards

AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ON Networks® (ON), in partnership with South by Southwest (SXSW) Film Conference and Festival, announced the winners of the Greenlight Awards™ (www.thegreenlightawards.com), the industry’s first competition to recognize the next great, original digital series. The winners were selected from among the more than 200 entries in two categories – Best Original Production and Best Original Series Idea. The winners included:

Best Original Production:

• The Guild – A comedy series that follows the lives of a misfit group of six computer role-playing game addicts and their interactions on and off-line. The show is written by Felicia Day, directed by Jane Selle Morgan, and produced by Felicia Day, Kim Evey and Jane Selle Morgan.

Best Original Series Idea:

• Knock Off – A show written by Brandi-Ann Milbradt of Montreal, Canada, in which each episode finds three young, hip fashion designers who help viewers to “knock off” their own versions of the most sought-after clothing and fashion accessories.

A prestigious panel of industry judges chose the winners from hundreds of entries encompassing a variety of genres. The panel of judges included actor Luke Wilson, indie writer/director Richard Linklater, HD pioneer Randall Dark, Internet show creator Joe Swanberg, film producer Michael Uslan, TV industry reporter Daisy Whitney, Epic-Fu host and producer Zadi Diaz, SXSW Film Conference and Festival producer Matt Dentler, and Xbox Live Global Marketing executive Peter Orullian.

In addition to receiving cash awards, the winners will also have an opportunity to develop and distribute their shows through ON Networks and its worldwide syndication partners. This includes an exclusive, one-month syndication deal on Xbox LIVE, the online gaming and entertainment network for the Xbox 360 game console.
