Welch Allyn Honors Sales and Marketing Excellence in U.S. and Canada
Company Bestows Prestigious President’s Cup, Marketing Excellence Awards at 2008 Sales Meeting
SKANEATELES FALLS, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
Welch Allyn, a leading manufacturer of frontline medical products and solutions, recently honored four North American sales and marketing professionals with outstanding performance awards at its 2008 Sales Meeting in Phoenix, Arizona. Brian Gallagher of Philadelphia, John Norris of Chicago, and Tom Dickie of Winnipeg, Canada, were winners of the prestigious Welch Allyn President’s Cup, an award given each year to the company’s top sales professionals in both the alternate care and acute care markets in the United States and Canada. In addition, Ellen Woonton of Skaneateles, received the Marketing Excellence Award.
Brian Gallagher, winner in the U.S. acute care category, has been a Welch Allyn sales representative for 17 years. He works with hospital administrators from large and small institutions as well as several leading medical schools in the Northeast region.
“I sincerely appreciate the President’s Cup honor and feel fortunate to be able to sell such a wide variety of high-quality products into such a wide variety of acute care settings,” Gallagher said. “Working for a family-owned company makes all the difference because sales decisions are made with a clear long-term vision in mind. It makes me want to work as hard as I can for the company, because I know the benefits come back to the workforce ten-fold.”
Nine-year veteran John Norris, a U.S. ambulatory care account manager for the Midwest region, received the award for his outstanding sales performance and ability to provide exceptional service to his customers.
“It’s an honor to be recognized by Welch Allyn for my hard work and perseverance,” Norris said. “What’s kept me going for nine years is the relationships I’ve been able to develop and build with my customers. I know how much that makes a difference when closing a sale. It all comes down to trust and credibility.”
Tom Dickie, winner of the Canadian President’s Cup, has been a Welch Allyn sales representative for three years. He works with healthcare administrators and physicians in the Manitoba and Saskatchewan provinces of Canada.
“It is a tremendous honor to receive this award,” said Dickie. “With the quality of our core product line along with an impressive sales leadership team, it is a great time to be part of Welch Allyn. I would like to thank my customers and fellow sales representatives who have supported Welch Allyn and put their trust in me to get the job done in the Prairie Region.”
Ellen Woonton, a senior category manager and 39-year veteran of the company, was given the Marketing Excellence Award following the development and implementation of successful marketing plans which yielded strong growth in three different product categories, including Women’s Health, Lighting and Laryngoscopes. At the same time, she orchestrated the successful launch of the KleenSpec™ Disposable Vaginal Specula with Cordless Illumination System, an important innovation in the company’s traditionally strong line of Women’s Health products.
“Ellen has a can-do attitude and leads by example in all that she does,” said Tim Callahan, vice president, U.S. and Canada Marketing and Category Management. “She certainly earned this distinction which is a testament to her diligence, in-depth knowledge of our customers, and perseverance in successfully managing three businesses while ushering the KleenSpec through development and launch. She has a lifetime of leadership experiences to draw from and share, and this award exemplifies her many talents.”
According to John Tierney, senior vice president of U.S. and Canada sales, Welch Allyn upholds only the highest standards during the review of nominees each year for the President’s Cup and Marketing Excellence Awards.
“President’s Cup and Marketing Excellence Award winners regularly demonstrate the best in attitude, aptitude and performance for Welch Allyn,” he said. “Brian, John, Tom and Ellen are the best of the best and we are very proud to have each of them on the Welch Allyn team.”
