Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona Announces Executive Promotions
PHOENIX--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona (BCBSAZ) has announced the promotions of Karen Abraham, Deanna Salazar, Bill Arthur and Greg Wells to new positions within the organization.
Karen Abraham is promoted to senior vice president of finance and administration and senior Bluecard executive. Previously, she served as vice president of finance. Abraham joined BCBSAZ in 1983 as an auditor. She is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Arizona State University. In addition to her role at BCBSAZ, she is a member of the Phoenix Public Library Foundation Board and Arizona Town Hall Training Committee, serves on the W.P. Carey Finance Advisory Board at Arizona State University and is a member of the YMCA Metro Board of Directors.
Bill Arthur is promoted to vice president of finance. Previously, he served as director of finance. Arthur joined BCBSAZ in 1986 as a staff accountant. He is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Northern Arizona University and Master of Business Administration degree from The University of Phoenix.
Deanna Salazar is promoted to senior vice president and general counsel. Previously, Salazar was vice president of human resources and employee development. She joined BCBSAZ in 1999. Salazar holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in history from Adams State College and a Juris Doctorate degree in law from Arizona State University. She is a member of the Arizona and Colorado state bars and Los Abogados, the Phoenix Hispanic lawyers’ association. She also serves as a board member for various non-profit organizations, including Valley of the Sun United Way, Fresh Start Women’s Foundation and the Phoenix Women’s Sports Association.
Greg Wells is promoted to vice president of human resources and employee development. Previously, he served as director of human resources. He joined BCBSAZ in 2005. Wells holds a Bachelor of Science degree in human resources from the University of Arizona.
