Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona Announces Sales Executive Promotions

PHOENIX--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona (BCBSAZ) today announced that Julie Carr has been promoted to director, small group sales, and Neil Wilson has been promoted to director, large group sales.

Carr previously was senior manager of small group and individual sales for BCBSAZ. In her new position, she will be responsible for formulating and implementing strategies to achieve sales and membership objectives among businesses with 2 to 99 employees.

She joined BCBSAZ in 2000 as small group sales manager and has more than 23 years of experience in sales and sales management positions within the health care industry. She is an active supporter and past board member of the Sojourner Center and volunteer instructor for Junior Achievement. Carr earned a B.S. in business management from Northern Arizona University and holds designations as a Chartered Life Underwriter and Health Insurance Associate.

Wilson previously served as senior manager of national account sales for BCBSAZ. In his new role, he is responsible for sales and retention strategies for businesses with 100 or more employees. This segment encompasses enrollment in excess of 740,000 people.

He joined BCBSAZ in 2006 as a business development account executive and has more than 20 years of experience in sales and sales management positions. He is an active supporter of The United Way and The 100 Club. Wilson earned a B.B.A. in operations management from the University of Iowa.
