Claim Dismissed by Star Navigation Systems Group Ltd. and Change in Staff Announced

CALGARY--(BUSINESS WIRE)--AeroMechanical Services Ltd. ("AMA"), a leading service provider of aircraft health and performance monitoring systems, announced that Star Navigation Systems Group Ltd. ("SNA") has dismissed its patent infringement case against AMA in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California (the "Court"). This dismissal by Star comes on the eve of a Court hearing scheduled March 27, 2009 to hear arguments regarding AMA's motion to dismiss. The Court had already dismissed two of Star’s previous complaints on April 8, 2008 and August 18, 2008.

AMA’s CEO, Bill Tempany, said “It is AMA’s opinion that the case should not have ever been commenced by Star as AMA does not infringe on Star’s patents. AMA is pleased to have put these matters behind them. AMA has incurred significant legal costs in defending itself against these frivolous actions by SNA and will attempt to obtain compensation for those fees incurred through whatever means available to AMA, including but not limited to the current counterclaim before the Court in Ontario for $15,000,000”.

AMA is the technology leader in aircraft health and performance monitoring systems and holds patents recognizing its innovation in this industry.

AMA also announces that Pat Sandall, VP Sales and Marketing will be leaving AMA effective immediately. We would like to thank Pat for her efforts and contributions for the last 18 months and wish her every success in her career. Mr. Richard Hayden, President of AMA, will assume the responsibilities for AMA’s sales and marketing efforts along with his other duties.
