Ameron Appoints James L. Balas Vice President - Controller

PASADENA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Ameron International Corporation (NYSE: AMN) today announced the appointment of James Balas to the position of Vice President – Controller. Mr. Balas will report to James McLaughlin, Ameron’s Chief Financial Officer & Treasurer.

Mr. Balas will have responsibility for the Company’s accounting policies, financial controls and financial reporting, including preparation of financial filings to the SEC. In addition, Mr. Balas will be involved in financial planning and operational analysis.

Mr. Balas’ most-recent position was Chief Financial Officer for Solar Integrated Technologies in Los Angeles, California. Prior to joining Solar Integrated Technologies, Jim held senior management and auditing positions with Keystone Automotive Industries, Capgemini and Ernst & Young, LLP in Southern California.

Mr. Balas holds a BS Degree in Accounting from California State University – Long Beach and a MBA from the University of Southern California. Mr. Balas is also a Certified Public Accountant.
