Allegheny Energy’s Paul Evanson Ranks Among Top CEOs in America
GREENSBURG, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Allegheny Energy, Inc. (NYSE: AYE) announced today that Paul J. Evanson, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer, is among the “Best CEOs in America,” according to Institutional Investor magazine.
Evanson ranked as one of the top five CEOs in the electric utility industry for the second year in a row. To arrive at its 2009 rankings, the magazine surveyed more than 900 buy-side analysts, portfolio managers and other investment professionals at over 460 institutions.
Evanson joined Allegheny in mid-2003. The company returned to profitability in 2004, reported strong earnings growth in 2005 and 2006, and achieved investment grade credit ratings and restored its dividend in 2007. Through 2008, Allegheny’s overall stock performance on a five-year basis was the best of any company in the Edison Electric Institute utility index of 57 companies.
