Cablers Launch "Who Wants A Man Cave" Contest on June 12 With Multi-Platform Support
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- As the go-to destination for home improvement television, DIY Network is teaming up with the ultimate television destination for baseball fans, MLB Network, to deliver one lucky viewer a man cave fit for the major leagues with their “Who Wants A Man Cave?” contest. From June 12 to July 24, guys in desperate need of a getaway can submit a video explaining why they want their own baseball-themed man cave to www.diynetwork.com.
After selecting the winner in August, DIY Network’s Man Caves hosts Tony “Goose” Siragusa and licensed contractor Jason Cameron will join MLB Network studio analysts and former Major League Baseball players Harold Reynolds and Mitch Williams to transform the winner’s space into the ultimate man cave, equipped with official MLB merchandise from his favorite team, high-tech toys and deluxe furnishings. Four runners-up will receive an MLB Authentic Collection cap and jersey from the Major League team of their choice. Viewers can witness the fast-paced renovation from start to finish on a special edition of DIY Network’s primetime smash hit series Man Caves on Tuesday, Sept. 29 at 9 p.m. ET, and on MLB Network in October.
“I’m always willing to lend a hand if it means giving another guy a space of his own,” said Siragusa. “And as a sports fanatic, I especially look forward to building a man cave where our winner can kick back and watch his favorite major league team.”
The “Who Wants A Man Cave?” contest also consists of on-air promotion on both networks and online at www.diynetwork.com, www.mlbnetwork.com and www.mlb.com. The partnership between DIY Network and MLB Network was brokered by Media Storm who serves as media agency of record for both networks. For more contest information, baseball fans can tune-in to DIY Network and MLB Network’s promotional broadcasts on the big screens at major league and minor league stadiums across the country.
“Our one-of-a-kind live studio show, MLB Tonight, brings the baseball experience directly to our viewers’ living rooms on a nightly basis,” said Reynolds. “Our project with DIY Network will give the ultimate fan a major league man cave to sit in and enjoy while watching MLB Network.”
MLB Network’s signature show, MLB Tonight, features on-air analysts Mitch Williams and Harold Reynolds, and airs live beginning at 6 p.m. ET until the final MLB game of the night ends between Monday and Saturday. The show features live look-ins of games in progress, updates, highlights, reporting and analysis.
