Paxata Announces New Release Focused on Automating Data Understanding for All Analysts
Adaptive Data Preparation leader unveils new features at Tableau’s Customer Conference, brings Tableau-like data prep to business teams who explore, clean, change and combine disparate data prior to analytics
REDWOOD CITY, Ca.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Paxata, the first Adaptive Data Preparation™ platform built from the ground-up to address the next generation of data integration, quality, enrichment, collaboration and governance, today announced they will be offering their latest release at the Tableau Customer Conference in Seattle, Washington on September 8 through 12, 2014. This is another milestone in Paxata’s continued commitment to helping every business analyst reduce the time and pain of getting data ready for analytics.
“Deft, thorough data preparation is a hot topic in the enterprise analytics world for a good reason: it’s important for effective business performance”
“K2 Intelligence’s Data Analytics clients come to us with complex data problems that require bespoke investigative solutions,” explained Chris Ribeiro, Director at K2 Intelligence. “Paxata is a tool that has repeatedly allowed us to shorten the acquisition-to-analysis pathway, putting our practitioners in a position to deliver rapid value to our clients instead of wasting critical time wrangling troublesome data. We are excited to continue to work with Paxata as they expand their data preparation capabilities with this new release.”
“Deft, thorough data preparation is a hot topic in the enterprise analytics world for a good reason: it’s important for effective business performance,” said Mark Smith, CEO and chief research officer at Ventana Research. “This release demonstrates Paxata's ability to satisfy agile data integration, quality and governance requirements across every sized organization.”
Keeping with Paxata’s innovation cycle, the Summer ‘14 release includes new features and enhancements across the entire data preparation lifecycle:
- EXPLORE: Filtergrams, the visual representation of data attributes, are now expanded to allow users to search and dynamically filter hundreds of thousands of values with just a click.
- CLEAN AND CHANGE: For the first time ever, business analysts are able to execute smart shaping with pivoting, de-pivoting and transposing their data interactively, functionalities that are particularly difficult and time-consuming to work around using Excel.
- COMBINE: Paxata Intellifusion™, Paxata’s not-so-secret sauce, now features expanded algorithms that increase the number of scenarios for automatically detecting relationships and combining data, including the ability to detect multiple groups of columns and match each of them appropriately across datasets.
Paxata is introducing other features, including upgraded importing functionality that allows users who are working with legacy systems to import fixed-width data. Also enhanced is Paxata’s publishing feature, which simplifies the creation of ODBC connections to Tableau or Qlik in just three clicks.
"When we saw a pre-production demo of Paxata two years ago, we wished that we'd had it for every data management project we performed,” said Joseph di Paolantonio, Independent Thinker at the analyst firm, Data Archon. “They delivered another ‘aha’ moment for us with this release. The additional smart shaping and multi-key relationship recognition makes Paxata an essential tool for anyone who needs to fully, deeply understand their data during consumption.”
