Ray Prasad Joins TCW as Emerging Markets Portfolio Manager
Brings 18 Years of Emerging Markets Equity Investment Experience to TCW
LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The TCW Group, a global asset management firm, today announced that Ray Prasad has joined the firm as an Emerging Markets Equity Portfolio Manager. In this role, he will join Portfolio Managers Penny Foley and David Robbins in managing the TCW Worldwide Opportunities strategy, a blended emerging markets debt and equity strategy that has been in existence since 1987, and the TCW Emerging Markets Multi-Asset Opportunities Fund, a parallel mutual fund vehicle that was launched in 2013. Mr. Prasad will also work with Ms. Foley and Mr. Robbins to enhance and expand the overall emerging markets equity platform at TCW. Mr. Prasad is based in the firm’s New York office.

Mr. Prasad was most recently the Director and Senior Portfolio Manager for Emerging Markets Equities at Batterymarch Financial Management, where he planned and managed the investment process and co-led the emerging markets team, which managed approximately $12 billion in assets at its peak. He was also a member of the investment strategy and research leadership team at Batterymarch, which oversaw all investment products. Mr. Prasad joined Batterymarch in 1996 as an equity analyst covering emerging markets. Earlier in his career, he worked in strategic planning at J. Walter Thompson and at Modi-Revlon Inc.

Mr. Prasad earned an M.S. in Finance at Boston College. He also holds an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management and a B.A. (Hons) in Mathematics from St. Stephens College in Delhi, India. Mr. Prasad is a CFA charterholder.
