IACF, Along with Numerous Indian American Organizations to Host Indian Prime Minister’s Historic Address

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--India’s newly elected prime minister, Mr. Narendra Modi, has accepted an invitation from the Indian American Community Foundation (IACF) and a coalition of diverse Indian-American organizations to address a mammoth crowd at Madison Square Garden in New York City on September 28, 2014.

“IACF is working relentlessly to ensure that well-wishers are accommodated and we will initially work through partner organizations for the distribution of tickets.”

An expected 18,000 people are expected to welcome Mr. Modi, the crowd is considered among the largest to hear an address by a foreign leader in the United States.

A spokesperson for the IACF announced “We are extremely excited to organize what will be a truly historic event for the Indian community across the entire United States. This event will serve to exemplify to Minister Modi that he has the support of not only India, but an entire Indian diaspora here and around the world.”

The IACF hosted speech will follow Mr. Modi’s address to the United Nations General Assembly. Several leading US government leaders and members of the U.S. Congress are expected to be on hand as well to lend support.
