SeniorCare Homes Continues to Reinvent Residential Memory Care by Adding a 5th Location Focused on Advanced Care
PRAIRIE VILLAGE, Kan.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--SeniorCare Homes, a Prairie Village-based provider of comfortable and stable memory care environments to seniors with dementia, memory loss, Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases, announces a second location in Overland Park capable of caring for residents in the later stages of Alzheimer's, Parkinson's and dementia.
“There has been a trend among the big facilities in the industry where seniors with physical and cognitive limitations are finding it harder to properly have their physical and emotional needs met on a daily basis given staffing limitations in larger settings”
SeniorCare Homes received approval from the Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services to offer memory care services at an additional location in April of this year. The newly appointed Advanced Care home—the Vineyard House in Overland Park—now operates with environmental efficiencies and qualities that have been designed with advanced care needs in mind.
"There has been a trend among the big facilities in the industry where seniors with physical and cognitive limitations are finding it harder to properly have their physical and emotional needs met on a daily basis given staffing limitations in larger settings," said SeniorCare Homes President Jerry Pullins, Jr. "This causes a host of problems both in terms of personalization and timeliness of care, as well as for their family members. So, with two Advanced Care capable options, we now have an even greater ability to meet the needs of our residents at every level of care requirement. Families want to avoid a move at the end of life at all costs. Our goal is to offer a more robust continuum of care and allow our residents to age in place while receiving incredibly personal care."
Some of the amenities and services at the Advanced Care locations include two licensed caregivers in the residence at all times, in addition to geriatric physicians, physical therapy, and hospice care. The residences in the SeniorCare Homes family also include private bedrooms, large ADA bathrooms, personalized care plans based on individual needs, medication management, meals preparation, transportation, assistance with bathing, dressing and grooming, incontinence management, and whole-house security and alert systems.
"There has been a significant shift in the industry for those operating assisted living and specialty memory care settings," said Jerry Pullins, Jr. "As their residents are remaining in the settings for longer periods of time, the facilities are experiencing a heavier care load than ever before. We've seen this ourselves, and we recognized a need for change. So many of our families are curious about how long their loved ones can stay with SeniorCare Homes. I'm happy to say that we now have an even more robust family of care options in place that will afford our guests an advanced level of physical and cognitive care when and where they need it. We have five locations and two of the Overland Park homes are now staffed and designed to meet the needs of residents requiring additional physical and mental assistance. All have their own staff members. This gives us a greater level of efficiency and allows us to offer our residents the time and attention that they never imagined possible. There's no reason to have to move 'mom' to a bigger facility."
