Matrix Absence Management Enhances Mobile Absence Management App
New employee features make filing and managing absence claims fast and easy via smartphones and tablets
PHOENIX--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Matrix Absence Management, Inc., (Matrix), a leader in helping employers proactively manage employee absence, productivity and related payments, has enhanced employee level functionality to its industry leading mobile application. This new technology allows employees to initiate absence claims and report intermittent time, as well as access leave information and correspondence, complete surveys and interact with their claims examiner remotely from their smartphone or tablet.
“A key aspect of enhancing workplace productivity is making it easy for employees to understand, access and properly use their benefits”
Matrix was first in the industry to allow employees of client companies to use a mobile app to report intermittent absence from work, speeding the processing, management and adjudication of the appropriate statutory and corporate absence allowances. Like earlier releases, the new app is integrated with Matrix’s secure online portal, which also features mobile communication, reporting and analysis capabilities for employees and administrators.
With this latest release Matrix brings another first to the market by allowing employees of their customers to initiate a claim directly from the mobile device.
Matrix integrates workers’ compensation, short and long term disability, return-to-work services, and personal/family and medical leave (FMLA) programs to help employers realize time, efficiency and productivity gains. Matrix is also the administrator and claims processing platform for large case integrated disability clients of sister company Reliance Standard Life Insurance Company. An early technology leader in the absence management space, Matrix was among the first to allow telephonic claim intake for virtually any type of employee absence, and in 2007 pioneered secure online claim intake.
“Experience and industry research tell us people have turned their smartphones and tablets into administrative tools for their lifestyle,” said Kenneth Cope, president of Matrix. “An absence from work today doesn’t necessarily mean being isolated at home, sick in bed. It can mean bouncing between health care providers and diagnostic tests, helping loved ones with medical or personal issues or taking time to resolve family issues.”
Based on the premise that employees make up the most costly – and valuable – of a company’s resources, Matrix focuses on reducing the lost productivity suffered when employees miss work for any reason. This service portfolio, called Absence Solutions®, streamlines benefit delivery, simplifies administration and reduces overall benefit costs for companies nationwide employing nearly 2 million men and women.
“A key aspect of enhancing workplace productivity is making it easy for employees to understand, access and properly use their benefits,” Cope said. “These technology developments reflect the quickening pace and increasing financial pressures of everyone’s lives. Fortunately, our success in helping clients meet these challenges is reflected in both long client tenure and consistently superior employee satisfaction results.
“To that end, the latest version of our app is all about personalization, convenience and ease of use, three key tenets of our customer experience mission,” Cope said.
The new mobile app is available for free download through Apple’s App Store®, Google Play® or through Matrix’s eServices web platform, with which it integrates. Clients must have the mobile service enabled through their eServices account in order to use the reporting and new employer functions.
Headquartered in Phoenix, AZ, Matrix has service locations nationwide, including claims hubs in San Jose, California; Phoenix; Hawthorne, NY; and Portland, OR. Matrix clients employ nearly 2 million employees nationwide with total payrolls exceeding $60 billion.
