SEH of Indiana Adds Senior Wastewater Engineer Jay H. Niec to Indiana Office
MUNSTER, Ind.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--SEH of Indiana, an employee-owned, engineering and architecture company, continues to grow in the Indiana engineering consulting market and is proud to announce that Jay H. Niec, PE, BCEE joined the company. Jay brings more than 36 years of experience designing and managing medium to large complex water and wastewater treatment projects including pressure filtration, UV treatment, membrane wastewater treatment processes and stormwater systems. In his role of Senior Wastewater Engineer, Jay will lead the growth of water and wastewater services throughout Indiana and Illinois.

Prior to entering the engineering field, Jay served as the Superintendent of the JB Gifford Wastewater Treatment Plant in Michigan City, Indiana. Under Jay’s leadership, the District won the U.S. EPA award for Best Advanced Large Facility in the country. “Jay’s operational experience combined with his engineering expertise lends a unique perspective to wastewater treatment plant projects,” Keith said. "We look forward to growing our environmental services in the region and also introducing SEH’s multi-disciplined capabilities to Jay’s current and past clients."
Jay is a registered professional engineer in Indiana and Illinois, he is a Board Certified Environmental Engineer (BCEE), and he holds a Class 4 Wastewater Operators License and a Class D Industrial Operators License in the state of Indiana. He is a member of the Indiana Water Environment Association (IWEA), the Water Environment Federation (WEF) and the American Water Works Association (AWWA).
Jay’s education includes degrees in Oceanographic Technology and Civil Engineering Technology. He also holds a Master of Science in Environmental Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, Illinois and a Bachelor of Science in Liberal Studies from Purdue University in Westville, Indiana. In addition, Jay holds a Masters Certificate in Project Management from Villanova University in Villanova, Pennsylvania.
