Voting Opens to DQ® Fans Nationwide to Select the S’mores Song Music Video Contest Grand Prize Winner
The Dairy Queen® system announces today the top three finalists
MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Dairy Queen® system, part of Berkshire Hathaway (NYSE: BRK.A and BRK.B), has selected the three finalists of the S’mores Song Music Video Contest. From now through Friday, July 18, DQ® fans nationwide can log on to DQsmoresvideocontest.com to vote for their favorite video entry.
“One of the most difficult decisions was choosing the three finalists. We wish them well and encourage everyone to log on and vote for their favorite. I do know that based on the video submissions, we are a brand with the most talented fans.”
Based on popular fan vote, one grand-prize winner will be awarded $10,000. The second prize will receive a $1,000 Dairy Queen gift card and third prize will receive one Blizzard® Treat per month for one year (a $260 DQ gift card). Winners will be announced on Monday, July 28.
The three finalists are:
- “Ultimate S’MORES Song Remix” by Michael Jones of Tucson, Ariz.
- “Backyard Party” by Andy Checketts of River Heights, Utah
- “The Sweet Pickin’ S’MORES Blizzard Ditty” by Paul Koudouris of Pittsburgh, Pa.

All submissions for the S’mores Song Music Video Contest were judged on video quality, creativity, originality and adherence to theme. Fans were asked to submit a 45-60 second video of the next verse for the S’mores song featured in the DQ commercial.
The Dairy Queen system launched the S’mores Song Music Video Contest to celebrate the return of the S’mores Blizzard Treat flavor, a delicious blend of marshmallow filled chocolate bars, Honey Maid® graham crackers and signature DQ soft serve. The S’mores Blizzard Treat is available throughout the month of July.
