Activision’s Call of Duty™ Endowment Announces Request for Submissions for 2014 “Seal of Distinction” Awards
Recognizing the Most Effective and Efficient Non-Profits in Veteran Job Placement
SANTA MONICA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Call of Duty Endowment today opened the nomination process for the 2014 Seal of Distinction, awarded to non-profit veterans organizations that demonstrate the highest levels of effectiveness and efficiency in connecting recent military veterans with meaningful career opportunities. The Seal of Distinction recognition is accompanied by a $30,000 unrestricted grant, as well as operational advice and support, with the opportunity to receive additional restricted funding to encourage further growth.

Organizations may apply for the “Seal of Distinction” now through August 5 by completing an online application http://bit.ly/1iZFdtg. Nominees for the Seal of Distinction must meet a number of criteria, which include:
- Organization must be a charitable, non-profit, with 501(c)(3) status;
- Mission must include directly assisting unemployed veterans to find jobs;
- Group must complete an application, provide requested documentation and be prepared to submit to verification procedures by Deloitte;
- Applicants will be assessed by the number of veterans placed in jobs, the quality of those placements, and the cost-per-placement, among other metrics.
All applications will be reviewed and evaluated by the Call of Duty Endowment; finalists will be independently assessed on a pro bono basis by the accounting firm Deloitte.

The Call of Duty Endowment launched the Seal of Distinction in August 2013. The Endowment awarded $1.2 million in grants in 2013 to a total of 12 veterans employment nonprofits. At an average cost-per-placement of $1,286, these organizations helped 840 veterans find careers. This year, the Endowment plans to award more than $4 million in grants. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, post-9/11 veterans are 81% more likely to be unemployed than non-veterans.
