GenomeQuest Launches New IP Management Module
GenomeQuest incorporates intellectual property management into its secure cloud search application
SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--GenomeQuest Inc., a global provider of Intellectual Property search solutions for life science companies, today announced that its flagship software now includes a module for enabling customers to manage their corporate sequence IP. The new Sequence IP Manager extends the company’s existing search capabilities by allowing customers to create and manage corporate biological sequence records and search them alongside GenomeQuest’s leading GQ-Pat™ database in a secure and SOC II HIPAA compliant cloud-based environment.
“Our life science customers succeed based on their intellectual property strategy”
“Our life science customers succeed based on their intellectual property strategy,” said GenomeQuest CEO Richard Resnick. “Now, in addition to search, we enable them to capture and share their IP innovations within their company before they file patents, offering an integrated and unified view of their inventions against the broader IP landscape both inside and outside their organization.”
This new product launch comes on the heels of GenomeQuest’s initiative to add a manual curation step to its GQ-Pat database, increasing both breadth and depth of coverage of patents in the life science sequence domain. GQ-Pat is planned to have just under 600,000 patents and patent applications from authorities all over the world by the end of 2014, making it the most comprehensive database of such documents in existence. The company has also recently introduced its GQ-Pat SNP database, a collection of single nucleotide polymorphisms found in patents and in patent applications, particularly interesting to the diagnostics industry.
GenomeQuest is a global life science information and search company. Leveraging deep expertise in biology, genomics, and semantics, GenomeQuest produces GQ-Pat, a collection of nearly 300 million biological sequences found in the patent domain. GenomeQuest serves major nine of the top 10 pharmaceutical companies, four of the five top seed companies, and hundreds of biotech firms, IP legal teams, diagnostic labs, and universities around the world.
