BermanBraun Changes Company Name: WHALEROCK INDUSTRIES
Andrew Mittman named President of newly combined Film and Scripted TV division
SANTA MONICA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--BermanBraun, the 150 person media and technology company, has been renamed WHALEROCK INDUSTRIES, it was announced today by company founder and owner Lloyd Braun. Braun also announced a reorganization of the television and film units.
“I want to thank Gene for his dedication, hard work and commitment to excellence. He is an outstanding executive and wonderful human being. We wish him continued happiness and success”
Braun has combined the film and scripted television divisions into one unit, and has tapped Andrew Mittman to oversee as President. Mittman has run BermanBraun’s film unit since 2009. As part of this reorganization, Jenna Glazier has been promoted to Sr. Vice-President of television and film. Whalerock Industries has a first look television deal with MGM for television and film.
Braun stated: “This reorganization reflects our approach to development throughout the company. The traditional lines between media are increasingly blurred – particularly in film and television. Our executives will work the same way – evaluating material, developing relationships and understanding business models across the media landscape.
“Andrew Mittman is an extraordinary executive. He has the maturity, work ethic, taste and relationships to build a stellar film and television unit. I am thrilled Andrew will have Jenna Glazier by his side. Jenna is a terrific executive, and together with Andrew and our partners at MGM, I am confident we will build a first class studio division.”
Andrew Mittman stated: “At such a unique time in the media business, it’s exciting to be with a company that recognizes the collapsing creative boundaries once separating the TV and film business. I am beyond appreciative to have Lloyd’s continued faith and excited to get into trouble with Jenna and the rest of the team.”
As part of this reorganization, Gene Stein will be leaving the company. “I want to thank Gene for his dedication, hard work and commitment to excellence. He is an outstanding executive and wonderful human being. We wish him continued happiness and success,” stated Braun.
During his tenure at the company Andrew Mittman has been responsible for all of BermanBraun’s motion picture projects, including an animated film version of THE ADDAMS FAMILY at MGM, RENTAGHOST at Fox, MEN ARE FROM MARS WOMEN ARE FROM VENUS at Lionsgate, TRIUMPH at Disney and THE SEVENTH JUROR. Mittman also oversaw the series ALPHAS on SYFY for two seasons. Prior to joining BermanBraun, Mittman was Director of Development at Rosen-Obst Productions.
