Flawless Strategic Coordination at Tinley Park Convention Center
Perfect planning, execution key to successful events
TINLEY PARK, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Event planners know behind that eye-popping, once-in-a-lifetime party, there are hundreds of punch items that must click, with impeccable timing, into place. For that, says Freelance Event Planner Lindy Strodel, "The Tinley Park Convention Center is like another partner."
“Our numbers have increased over the years, but we never want getting that first drink to be frustrating. The Center has a huge oval bar, staffed by 8-9 bartenders so our guests are never waiting in line.”
Strodel has planned Riverside Medical Center's biannual gala for over a decade, coming to the Center for the third time March 1. "I love, love, LOVE the Center," says Strodel. "They get it."
Starting Thursday, Strodel's crew will begin transforming banquet and reception space into a magical atmosphere. "It is amazing what you can do with this room. You won't believe it's a convention center." Enormous lengths of fabric will cover walls and ceilings, with three classical cars on display. There will be a raised stage for the featured entertainment and later band. Offside, a pianist will provide a backdrop for those wishing to visit. Around all this, 80 tables of ten, with VIP tables on a raised platform, will be arranged.
"The Center makes it happen and it's perfectly timed. Our nine-page set-up schedule is shared with Center staff and they suggest helpful improvements. My decorator gets in and while there is a lift moving, stages, platforms and tables are setting up and safety is never compromised. Center staff ensures tables are set at the exact moment they should be, so my floral arrangements can go through the door and onto the table, never sitting in a holding area. They have everything perfectly synchronized."

"We are feeding 800 people at this black-tie event. The Center understands what we need with butler-served appetizers; nothing dripping, everything in one bite. They assist with menu choices, letting us mix things up and still ensure that every one of those 800 diners gets a hot plate."
"The Center has very good strategic coordination, with very detailed elements of our event," says Strodel. "I recommend the Tinley Park Convention Center to any group, large or small."
