Chair of HBS Executive Education & Publishing to Present Global Perspectives on Executive Development at Singapore Event
Event will highlight how executive development efforts can create world-class business leaders
SINGAPORE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Harvard Business School Executive Education and Publishing Chair Das Narayandas will present recent findings on executive development in the global marketplace to a group of alumni and clients at the Shangri-La Hotel in Singapore on February 26, 2014.
“Business leaders are increasingly recognizing leadership development as a necessity for growth, with more than half of the global CEOs we surveyed identifying the skills gap in the labor force as an impediment to organizational success”
In his presentation, Global Perspectives on Executive Development, Professor Narayandas, the James J. Hill Professor of Business Administration, Senior Associate Dean and Chair of Executive Education and Publishing, will discuss his recent research on how firms can align their talent management efforts both within their own organizations and with businesses around the world to produce more capable, insightful and fully-formed global leaders.
“Business leaders are increasingly recognizing leadership development as a necessity for growth, with more than half of the global CEOs we surveyed identifying the skills gap in the labor force as an impediment to organizational success,” said Professor Narayandas. “Best practice organizations are seeing this trend and developing programs tailored to employee roles, experience and overall corporate strategy. With this event, we’ll review the range of options available and explore how companies can develop an approach that fits their individual needs.”
The presentation will focus on the trends that are impacting leadership training today, ranging from constraints on internal program development and support, to external pressures like government-mandated spending on education and training. Importantly, Professor Narayandas will highlight the range of executive development options that business leaders need a keen awareness of in order to build successful, integrated global enterprises.
In addition to the complimentary Global Perspectives on Executive Development event, this week Harvard Business School is also presenting its flagship Executive Education offering, the Advanced Management Program (AMP). Taking place February 25-28, 2014, AMP Executive Renewal Seminar – Singapore affords participants the chance to expand their global networks and explore new and relevant case studies over the course of four intensive days.
Global Perspectives on Executive Development will be followed by a networking reception hosted by HBS Executive Education and Harvard Business Publishing.
Global Perspectives on Executive Development will take place 6:30-9:30pm SGT on February 26, 2014 at the Shangri-La Hotel in Singapore.
