Addition of David Bloomgren further strengthens the energy and environment expertise of the firm’s DC office and public affairs practice
WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--David Bloomgren, senior advisor in the administrator’s office of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, is bringing his 15+ years of experience in government and strategic communications consulting to the Washington office of Hill+Knowlton Strategies. He joins the global strategic communications firm on Feb. 25 as a senior vice president for energy and environment in the public affairs practice.
“What drew me to Hill+Knowlton Strategies were the exciting and challenging clients the firm works with, and the world-class talent in the Washington office and throughout the network, from presidential advisors to journalists to business strategists”
“David’s involvement in energy and environmental issues spans many of the key issues, players and policy debates of the last 15 years,” said Howard Opinsky, general manager of H+K Strategies’ Washington office and head of the firm’s U.S. public affairs practice. “David’s experience advising companies and insights from two tours of duty serving both Republican and Democratic administrators at the EPA make him a wonderful addition to our team as we continue to build upon our solid foundation and leverage the great work we’re doing advising leading voices in the energy sector.”
In addition to serving as a senior advisor for public affairs at EPA during the Obama administration, Bloomgren has led communications for the Agency’s environmental compliance division and the Office of Air and Radiation. Prior to joining EPA, Bloomgren was a senior strategist at Edelman, handling corporate and issues management work for clients that included Fortune 10 companies, a leading pro-business group, an international energy and environment-focused association, and others. During his first tour at EPA, Bloomgren led the development and execution of communications strategies for voluntary and regulatory programs that implement the United States Clean Air Act and address global climate change.
