Captain D’s Sets New Record for Average Unit Volume in 2013
NASHVILLE, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Captain D’s is celebrating a successful close to 2013 after establishing an all-time Average Unit Volume sales record. The 45 year old brand finished the year with a strong Q4, boasting a system wide same store sales increase of 2.6 %. This rounded out the fast casual chain’s year of success as they posted system-wide same store sales increases of 3.2% for 2013, which came on top of an 8.3% increase in 2012. In addition to sales growth, Captain D’s has opened 60 new or remodeled restaurants that feature the all new Beach design model that has proven successful for the brand. Several Franchise and Company locations with this new restaurant design have produced double digit sales comps.

Building on its momentum of success, Captain D’s is focusing on franchise growth in 2014. Last year, the brand experienced growing interest from multi-unit/multi-brand owners who were looking to diversify their existing restaurant portfolios and take advantage of Captain D’s sales growth. The expansion included multi-unit agreements that added Captain D’s restaurants in Alabama, Tennessee and Georgia.

The new menu items include fan favorites such as freshly prepared Grilled White Fish, Shrimp Skewers, and Surf and Turf. Further innovation includes their new 3D Kids Program that features a new Grilled Fish Tenders meal that meets the NRA’s Kid’s Live Well nutritional guidelines.
